Awesome/Sad Conversation
My niece was looking at a book today that had a dog in it. I’ve been thinking about getting another dog since mine died a year ago.
Me: Oh, do you want Grandma to have a dog at her house?
My niece: No.
Me: You don’t want me to have a dog?
My niece: Brandy? (My dog’s name)
Me: Yeah…Brandy was a good dog.
My niece: She was sick?
Me: Yes, she was. (Here is when I started to get chocked up)
My niece: She’s happy now?
Me: Yes, she is.
Hugs were then exchanged as I tried to not cry in front of the other adults who were around. She’s such a wise, young child.
